An employee of IMCA Jamaica Limited had to be rushed to hospital after a truck crashed into a vehicle while descending a hill a few miles out from the Grants Pen community in St Thomas yesterday evening. According to eyewitnesses, the driver lost control of the truck, which slammed into the vehicle being driven by the IMCA employee at approximately 5:15pm
Members of the St Catherine South Police and the Jamaica Defence Force carrying out an operation on the Hellshire main road in St Catherine yesterday, taking several persons into custody for breaking the 3 p.m. curfew under the Disaster Risk Management Act. The security forces had earlier visited the area, warning beach-gowers to make their way home before the start of the 3p.m. to 8 a.m. curfew. Those who could not produce identification or give a suitable explanation for being in the area were detained.
