RAFTING ON THE....:  This resident of Copperwood in South St. James popularly called Willie built a bamboo raft which he used to transport people from one point to the next in the community after flood waters from the heavy rains which have been pelting the island rose to more than 25 feet submerging more than three houses. The structure in the background is still under construction and would house a commercial interest as well as house the owners.

SUBMERGED!! It is just a section of this roof which is visible after more than 25 feet of water submered sections of the Copperwood community in South St. James. Residents are concerned about an outbreak of waterbourne diseases citing that the flood waters washed through pit latrines which are a feature of the area.

Residents of New River near Santa Cruz, St. Elizabeth use a makeshift raft to make their way along the flooded sections of the community. New River experienced flooding following the heavy rains caused by Tropical Storm Nicole.
