Scores of protesters gathered on Old Hope Road to protest excessive force by the police and racial injustice, sparked by the killing of American George Floyd. The demonstrations have gathered momentum locally with the denunciation of the slaying of a disabled woman in August Town, as well as the controversial death of Noel Chambers, an inmate who spent 40 years in prison without trial.
