A fisherman looks on as a brown pelican (Pelecanus occidentalis) eats unattended fish that were left by a fisherman at the Old Harbour Bay fishing beach in St Catherine. The pelican mainly feeds on fish but occasionally eats amphibians, crustaceans, and the eggs of nestlings. The brown pelican is the national bird of Saint Martin, Barbados, Saint Kitts and Nevis, and the Turks and Caicos Islands
